Cohuna Cards - June 25, 2026

Another good night playing cards with even numbers helping that dreaded 3-hander. What a finish in the Ladies, with the decider on the last hand of the day; Sheila Joss sitting on 2980 and Gwen Campbell just 50 behind. The cards were dealt, and Gwen went 8 Hearts (240), and with the help of Tiger Des, got all the tricks. Gwen Campbell won the Ladies with a score of 3180. In the Men’s, Doug Billman was off to a flyer, scoring 650 in the 4 hands. Also, on the next table, John Walters scored 510; however, he started to get ordinary cards, hitting the front on the 32nd deal, scoring 8 no trumps on the next hand (320). He went on to win the Men’s with a good score of 3340.

The Lucky Door again went to Tiger Des, and the Mystery Number was awarded to Mavis Prout and Jim Bond. Jim had one of those nights when he was not getting good cards, and on the 28th deal, he had not reached the 1000 mark but came home strong, scoring 620 in 4 deals.
