Cold weather does not deter our players coming out to play cards as we had 11 card sharps and that lovely 3-hander in place.
At long last, Gwen Campbell broke the drought with a close win in the ladies by 40, and the score was down owing to that 3-hander, which was 2,270.
Doug Billman had no problems easily winning the men’s by the odd 500 with a score of 3,080. Somehow, he managed to score in the 3-hander.
The lucky door was won by Laurel Stacey and the mystery number of 1,600, Betty McLoughlan won it for the ladies and we had a tie in the men’s with Barry Stacey and Joyce Hull had the same score.
8 hearts was the best call of the night (300). The jackpot now stands at $10. You hear in the movies about cards up your sleeves etc. What happened last night, we lost a card, so we went and got a new pack and we looked everywhere for that card. About five games later, we saw that darn card and it was on the outside of its slipper, so we did not have to gun fight for someone cheated.
