Cohuna Cards - June 18, 2026

Another good night at cards with Lorna Johnson, who had a birthday. She turned 92 and is still loving her cards.

Mavis Prout is in form again, winning the Ladies with a huge score of 3570. It’s a pity her beloved Collingwood could not follow suit! Doug Billman (after 2 weeks ago, lost in the fog, returned to find his home and win the Men’s) also reached over 3000, scoring 3080. Closely following was Jim Bond, 120 behind. 

Thanks to Gwen Campbell, who drew out the Lucky Door, and with thunderous applause, Tiger Des won. It then followed up with getting the Mystery Number, and Joyce Hull won the Ladies. I heard someone had a chance of going 10 no trumps in the 2-hander, but chickened out, going only 9. Iris Howard and Jim Bond won the aggregate, which is over 6 weeks, and all the scores are added up. Usually, anyone who gets over 2,200 per night has a chance. Don’t forget the 3- hander was in place a couple of times.
