15 players turned up for a game of cards, which was a good turnout. Before we started to play cards, we had a person from The Bridge ready to take an important photo, and that was the 90s club. You hear in the AFL about players reaching the magical 300 games, well, in cards, we have the 90s. Top of the list is the young Iris Howard at 96, Sally Gray, Joyce Hull, Lorna Johnson and the last was Brian McLoughlan. Yes, they are in their 90s, but they turn up every week for cards.
Gwen Campbell showed that she is back on the top after another convincing win, with a score of 2,840. A new winner in the men’s was John Walters with a score of 2,390, closely followed by Laurel Stacey and the old tiger in Brian McLoughlan.
The lucky door went to Barry Stacey and the mystery number of 1,430 was shared by Lorna Johnson and Barry Stacey. Tiger Des, like his beloved Tigers, is having a bad run with cards, scoring only 620, which is nearly the lowest score of the year.
