We had 18 card players turn up, which was the best for the year. Yes, it is a great club, and that diet-free food makes the night just right. Annette Campbell had a very good score and Jim Bond – not James Bond – won the mens with a good score...
It was the last night of cards before we have a break, with 17 players turning up with a plate of those goodies – sponges with cream, chocolate crackers, lollies, small pavs and lots more.
Mavis Prout came out winners in the ladies, with a score of 3,120, and Jim Bond won the mens, with a score of 3,110. The old tiger, Barney, took home the lucky door. The mystery number of 1,740 went to Iris Howard and Kevin Dove. The best call was 8 diamonds (380) but the unlucky Laurel went 10 diamonds, only wanted her partner to help on the last card, but Des had two aces left and guess what? He tossed the wrong ace, so we went down 480.
Good to see Sue Sheen back. The secretary was presented with some blue tablets and some green ones, but don’t know what they are for. We are having a break for a while, but we will be back in 2023 and those diet-free snacks will be back on the menu. Go Tigers.
