Cohuna Cards - December 18, 2025

15 Players turned up for the last night of cards as we are having a break over the festive season. Gwen Campbell probably set some kind of a record by winning again, making it 5 times in a row and winning the aggregate after missing one week. Gwen had a score of 3260 and the next in line was about 600 behind. Everyone was asking “how does she do it”? The answer is simple; Gwen gets good cards! But for everyone learning, Gwen knows where the cards are in the opposition as there are only 13 cards in a suit so its not rocket science. The Men’s was a close call with 3 players within 40 trying to be Number 1. Tiger Des, combined with Gwen Campbell for the last 4 hands of the night, scored 700 to get over the line by a measly 10 from Michael McGann. Doug Billman was just behind Michael. 

The Lucky Door Prize went to Doug Billman and The Mystery Number went to husband and wife in Barry and Laurel Stacey. The best call of the night was 8 hearts by Joyce Hull and Doug Billman.

The aggregate was won by Gwen Campbell with a score of 1690, and John Walters won the Men’s with a score of 14620. A Lovely supper was next in line, and each player received a beautiful plum pudding. Many thanks to Safeway of Kerang who donated them to the 500 Club.
