Gwen Campbell again showed she is a top card player, winning again with a score of 2,850. The men’s scores were down as they had to sit twice in that 3-hander, but Des Shelley had a night you only dream of with three aces, followed up with 7 hearts and going 10 hearts (500) to take out the jackpot of $14. Des did deal that hand himself, but the stewards deemed it to be legal and he also won the mens with a score of 2,480.
The lucky door went to Sally Gray, and the mystery number Joyce Hull and Barry Stacey won this prize.
Next week, the jackpot starts at $2. Over the years, the 500 club has donated over $15,000 to local charities, which is a great achievement.
