16 players again turned up to play cards, with some high scores being recorded for the night. Starting with Annette Campbell scoring 3,740 to easily win the ladies, then it was Jim Bond’s turn, who also had a big score of 3,710 to win the mens by an odd 500. Brian McLoughlan burst out of the blocks scoring 810 in four deals, then ran out of puff like his beloved Tigers.
The lucky door went to Sheila Joss, who has fitted into the club well by getting most into the kitchen to help out after cards. The mystery number was 2,110 and the ladies, we had two who were only 50 off, that being Lorna Johnson and Iris Howard. Doug Billman won the mens. The best call of the night was 8 hearts (300) and the jackpot will be $6 next week.
