Cohuna Cards - April 30, 2026

On a sad night starting to play cards.  We had a minute silence for one of our players who passed away suddenly during the week - Michael McGann. Michael won the cards only 2 weeks ago with his own rag that he thought it helped him deal the cards. Another Tiger gone.

Numbers up a bit with 11 turning up. Gwen Campbell, after falling asleep in front of the telly and a couple of phone calls, turned up (with no hair done and her monitor going flat), won the Ladies with a score of 3060. The men’s was won by Laurel Stacey with a score of 2680. Scores down a bit with the 3-hander in play. The Lucky Door was awarded to Iris Howard, and the Mystery Number went to that lady again, Lorna Johnson. Lorna paid her money to play cards in 20 cent pieces and guess what; Lorna got them back! Lorna had good cards but opposition out-bid her. But she enjoyed herself bringing those egg and lettuce sandwiches for supper. 

The best call of the night was 8 diamonds (280 by Tiger Des & Joyce Hull). Jackpot still going.
