Again, 14 players turned up to win the big money, which is $7 a win. Our 96-year-old in Iris Howard showed the young players how to play to win and Iris’s score was 3,430. Nephew, Jim Bond, took home the chocolates with a good score, probably helped by going 10 spades with Betty McLoughlan, picking up the jackpot of $10.
Jim scored 3,220 to win the mens. Second was John Walters, who was leading going into the last two hands of the night, but suddenly that big snake came to life and John slid down the snake to the tune of 280, so he ended up coming second.
The lucky door went to Lorna Johnson and the low number of 1,560 was Lorna and Dusty Shelley. As I said, the jackpot went off, so we start again next week.
