Twenty-seven bowlers turned up for Social Bowls last Tuesday on a beautiful afternoon, and the greens were very fast. Two-game winners were the team of Ian Howard, Maurie Marnie, Marian Smith and Kaye Holmes with 53 points. Also winning two games was Noddy Hosking’s team, which had to be content with runners-up.
Mid-week pennant kicked off on Wednesday after being called off the previous week due to rain. All three rinks of the Cohuna Div. 1 team 2 lost to Barham 1. No results available for the Div. 1 Cohuna 1 team or the Div. 2 Cohuna 3 team.
Saturday’s pennant results saw Div. 2 Cohuna 2 team beaten in all rinks by Kerang 3 at Kerang. Team manager, Brian Main, commented that the games were close and all rinks were very competitive. Kerang’s greens were very fast and in excellent condition. At times, the wind was difficult and affected the bowls.
It would be appreciated if all team managers could pass on their team’s pennant results in time for publication.
