There was a good roll-up for Social Bowls last Tuesday; the weather was warm with high humidity, which produced a short, sharp shower later in the day. Winners were Ann Hipwell (s), Jeff Gruar, Kaye Holmes and Lynda Smith. They defeated Ken Strachan’s team with shots up after both teams were two-game winners.
Numbers are coming in for the end of year wind up for Midweek Pennant and also for our annual Christmas dinner. Hamper tickets are selling well for the big draw on December 16.
Results are as follows for Midweek Pennant: In Div. 1, Cohuna 1 defeated Cohuna Golf 1 – 12/73 to 0/61. Barham 1 defeated Cohuna 2 – 11/65 to 1/57. Noel Hosking’s rink lost by 5 shots, Marj Mooney’s rink drew with Jean Fairchild’s rink – 19 all, Ken Strachan’s rink down by 3 shots. It was a very close tussle all day, with Cohuna 2 down by 8 shots overall.
Saturday’s pennant results as follows: In Div. 1, Cohuna 1 defeated Kerang 1 – 10/82 to 2/65. In Div. 2, Kerang Golf 2 defeated Cohuna 2 – 10/89 to 2/50. In Div. 3, Cohuna 3 defeated Leitchville 2 – 10/87 to 2/64, and Kerang 4 defeated Cohuna 4 – 10/79 to 2/50.
