Another good roll up for Social Bowls last Tuesday and the showery weather cleared to a fine afternoon. Winners on the day were Jules Mastin, Alison Ainger and Rob Wilson. Great to see Jules in the winner’s circle again, doing well at her first season at our club.
There was no midweek pennant due to the Country Carnival. Most games were played at Barham, with Cohuna catering for the spillover players. By all accounts all bowlers were more than pleased with our greens and also with the catering provided by the club.
Saturday’s pennant results are as follows:
In Div. 1, Cohuna 1 lost to Cohuna Golf 1 - 10/76 to 2/57.
In Div. 2, Cohuna 2 defeated Cohuna Golf 2 - 10/71 to 2/68.
In Div. 3A, Cohuna 3 defeated Pyramid Hill 2 - 2/92 to 0/50. Greg Beck’s rink won by five shots, Ken Strachan’s rink by 17 shots, and Trevor Allen’s rink won by 20 shots. Div. 3B had a bye.
Last Sunday, a group of Cohuna bowlers travelled to a tournament in Tongala. Noddy Hosking, Geoff Reade and Gavin, as well as a ring-in skip from Moama, won the day. Congratulations and well done, fellas.
