cluBarham Indoor Bowls Tournament April 17 and 18

It was a chilly start to the day on Saturday. We had a good roll up of 32 teams from a good range of places converging on our lovely town for a weekend of bowling.

After a welcome at cluBarham, a cup of tea and bickie, half of the teams headed out to the Golf Club to play while the rest played in the auditorium.

Winners of the raffle were drawn on Saturday after play. They were 1st – IGA hamper, Norma (Wodonga); 2nd – Foodworks hamper, Sandra (Colac); 3rd – $25 ‘Royal’ meal voucher, Patricia (Yenda); 4th – $25 ‘Royal’ meal voucher, Bob (Melbourne); 5th $25 Caltex fuel voucher, Glenys (Mildura).

Winners on the Saturday were L. Former’s team from Yenda on 54 points. A play off for second saw I. Shain’s team from Warrnambool win. Third was Norm Betteridge’s team from Ballarat.

Results for Sunday were 1st team, Poscaluta from Yenda 52 points; 2nd team Coghills from Echuca; 3rd team Mungdeen from Warrnambool.

On Thursday 22nd we meet for tea at the club at 6pm, then bowls, followed by a meeting.
