A 60-year-old woman has been charged with breaching bail after police at a Barham Murray River border checkpoint found her in the boot of a car that had been refused entry to New South Wales.
The incident happened about 1am Saturday, when the 50-year-old woman driving the car was unable to produce a permit to enter NSW when she was stopped at the Barham checkpoint.
Both women were issued with $1000 fines for failing to comply with COVID-19 directions.
The older woman was also charged with a breach of bail and issued a traffic infringement notice for travelling in the boot.
She is next due to appear at Deniliquin Local Court next month.
