Barham Bowling Club: Thursday, May 28, 2020

Hello, and welcome to our new found club. Our old Clubs will never be forgotten, and neither will the people who worked so hard to keep them going. Unfortunately time has caught up, and with diminishing numbers, and other factors, it was something that probably should have happened a few years ago. Anyway let’s embrace the situation. Looks like we will be at the old Services Club for a bit longer than was anticipated, but in all honesty, who would have predicted that we would have to endure a pandemic. It has thrown everything into chaos. So we have to wear it, and give thanks that we weren’t struck down with this insidious virus. 

Our new committee has been decided, and we can only wish them good luck, and give them support to make this the greatest Club along the great Murray River.

Treasurer, Pam Waldron. Tournament Secretary, Michael Laursen. Publicity officer Ian Ellis.  Committee consists of all of the above, plus, Charlie Bagg, Garry Cook, Jackie Smythe, Peter Orr, Alan Thomas.  Saturday Selectors: Doug Carter, Clive Cassidy, Garry Cook, Shane Manners, and Reg Scott. Midweek Selectors: Jean Fairchild, Jenny Laursen, Gael Mathers, Jenny Orr and Esther Schelbert. 

I would like to wish all of these people good luck, and congratulate them on their positions, and also thank them for putting their name in the hat, and for giving their time, for the sake of Our New Club, and all members.

And just as a footnote; Don’t think for one moment that you aren’t going to be out of this “Ditchweight.”
