Juniors were all fired up when they attended a Junior Ranger session put on by Parks Victoria during the school holidays. The ‘All Fired Up’ workshop, held in Apex Park on Friday, June 30, aimed to teach children about the role Rangers and Forest Fire Fighters play in fighting bushfires.
Children aged 6-12 attended the session and learnt about the role of fire in Australia’s ecosystems and how they recover after a fire event; how to have a safe campfire and how to extinguish it; and the Australian Fire Danger Ratings and what each level means.
