This past March 3rd was the last opportunity to see a total lunar eclipse until 2029 so I joined thousands of sky-watchers around Australia to witness a ‘Blood Red Moon’, a phenomenon that occurs when earth passes directly between the sun and moon and casts a gigantic shadow across the lunar surface and turns the moon a deep reddish colour.
