On Saturday, Goulburn Murray Cricket returned to Cohuna, where Nondies Cohuna faced Echuca South in an epic match. Luckily, Nondies Cohuna had pitch covers, which allowed the match to go ahead, despite the damp pitch making the ball slightly unpredictable.
Nondies Cohuna won the toss and elected to bat. The third batsman and captain, Peter Taylor, scored the highest for Nondies Cohuna with 31 runs, including two sixes and a four, before being sent back to the pavilion. Nondies Cohuna made a total of 98 runs.
Taylor was also lethal with the ball, claiming two wickets and conceding only 12 runs in his four overs. Logan Higgs also took two wickets, conceding 21 runs in his four overs. Anthony Moorhouse claimed a wicket, conceded 11 runs, and made a catch in the field while bowling an over. Mark Higgs bowled one over, claiming a wicket and conceding three runs.
However, the standout bowler was Matthew Robinson, who captured three wickets, two maidens, and conceded only three runs in his three overs and one ball. Wicket keeper Garner Smith made two catches, while Leigh Johnson and Gregory Moorhouse made two and one catches respectively.
In the end, Nondies Cohuna defeated Echuca South (85) by 13 runs.
