Barham Bowling Club held its official season opening on Saturday afternoon. A minute’s silence was observed for past players and members before an opening ‘spider’ was played. In this event, each player chose their own spot closest on the green and aimed to get as close to the jack as possible, with one foot in the ditch. The B Green was in perfect condition as 72 players enjoyed two friendly games of ten ends each. The 2025/26 Barham Bowling Club Office Bearers are Steve Wilson (President), Spike Laursen (Vice President and Tournament Secretary), Jean Fairchild (Secretary), Pam Waldron (Treasurer), and Wendy Cook (Ladies Rep). The General Committee includes Ken Ashton, Garry Cook, Gary Kennedy, and Jenny Laursen. Midweek selectors are Lyn Ashton, Helen Bray, Jenny Laursen, Pam Waldron, and Bev Berry, while Saturday selectors are Glenn Faul, Alan Larpent, Reg Scott, Gerard Keane, and Bob Maud.
