Police Report - May 29, 2025

 On Sunday the May 18, 2025 Police were called to assist local CFA members with a small fire along the Murray River in Koondrook. The witness who reported the incident had seen some young people in the vicinity prior to noticing the fire.  CFA attended and were able to extinguish the fire.  There was damage to a small area of bushland but fortunately no damage to property.   An exploded deodorant can was located in what looked like a small homemade campsite.

Police attended an incident in Adams Court, Kerang on the May 24 – regarding a deliberately lit fire. The fire began over a disputed property item. A 51-year-old female was taken into custody and is assisting Police with their enquiries.

2 Burglaries were reported in the Kerang area over the last week, one on a private residence where an amount of cash was stolen. The other was on a commercial premises where a white Ford Ranger  was stolen.  This vehicle remains stolen.  

There were reports of 2 vehicles having items removed from them.  Police encourage all vehicle owners when leaving a vehicle unattended, please be sure that the vehicle is locked.

 On May 20 Police responded to reports of an erratic driver in Murray Street, Kerang.  The driver, a 37 Y.O female from Kerang, underwent an Evidentiary Breath Test where she recorded a reading of .306%. The driver’s vehicle was Vehicle impounded – Driver’s license suspended immediately. The driver will face court at a later date.
