SWAN HILL
Accident: Just prior to midday today (Monday), police were called to River Road Swan Hill. The rider of a green trail motorbike appears to have lost control and rolled. The bike was carrying a passenger. The male rider sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a Melbourne Hospital. The female passenger was transported to Swan Hill Hospital for treatment. Police are asking for anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of a green trail bike being ridden around Swan Hill this morning, to contact Swan Hill Police on 5036 1600 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Theft from motor vehicle: Between 5pm and 7.30pm on Saturday the 2nd of August, offenders have entered an unlocked vehicle parked at the rear of Campbell Street Swan Hill. A set of keys was removed from the vehicle.
Driving under the influence of Alcohol: At about 4.30am on Saturday the 2nd of August, police intercepted a vehicle in Albert Street Swan Hill. The driver underwent a preliminary breath test which was positive. He was conveyed to the police station where he underwent an evidentiary breath test. The reading was 0.066. He was found to hold a NSW learners permit. The 18 year old driver received a penalty notice for driving unaccompanied and for driving or being in charge of a vehicle with above the prescribed concentration of alcohol in their system.
GANNAWARRA
Dangerous driving: At about 11.15am on Thursday the 31st of July, police observed a vehicle travelling at excessive speed on the Murray Valley Highway Gunbower. They attempted to intercept the vehicle but given the excessive and dangerous speed reached by the offending vehicle, the police pulled over. Cohuna police attended a Cohuna address a short time later and located the vehicle of interest. They arrested a 39 year old male for dangerous driving whilst pursued. The male was also found to be unlicensed, and the vehicle unregistered. The vehicle was impounded. The male was released pending summons to appear in court at a later date.
Fire: Emergency services were called to the intersection of Jobling and Quambatook Swan Hill Road Quambatook at about 8.30pm on Saturday the 2nd of August. At that location, a vehicle was located in a paddock fully engulfed in fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Burglary: Between 8.30pm on Friday the 1st of August and 10.15am the following day, the offender has gained entry to a sporting complex in Park Road Kerang. Whilst at that location the offender has caused damage and marked graffiti. The offender has been identified but is yet to be interviewed by police.
