MRC gains Natural Disaster Recovery Funding approval
1 min read

The Murray River Council’s application for Natural Disaster Recovery Funding has been approved by Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to repair the Moulamein and Maude roads. The repairs have been delayed due to the severity of the damages and the amount of water that was in the area for a long time. A representative from the Murray River Council said that they also had to wait for approval from TfNSW to obtain funding for the repairs related to the flood damage.

The approved works are fully funded under the NSW Natural Disaster Recovery Funding arrangements. Following recent approval, the evaluation process for this tender of works is now being finalised so that the works can hopefully commence by the end of the year. The Council will prioritise Maude Road once the contract is awarded.

Until the works are completed, the Council is maintaining these areas as best as possible. Motorists are encouraged to follow speed reductions and signage while driving through the affected areas.
