OMG, what have we got to do to win a game once we drive past Kerang? Whether it’s injuries, unavailability or other factors, it always seems to have an influence on whether we win or lose! On another point, coaches and coaching staff do everything in their power to attract players to a club and obviously get a commitment from those players hopefully for the football season. Obviously travel comes into play so some games will be missed. However with a crucial game on the cards and a finals berth in the mix you would think every player would make themselves available! It was a disappointing loss which could have gone either way right up till the final siren. Jacob was so unlucky not to have been paid a couple of marks up forward in the dying minutes! But wait, and it’s a huge but, we still have a small chance of playing finals providing results go our way next week. We play the bottom side which is Swan Hill, Tooley-Manang play the top side Woorinen, so the bottom line is if we ever need to put a team away then belt Swan Hill and hope Woorinen do the same to Tooley-Manang! I reckon the phones will be working overtime Sat’dy arvo! Ressy’s, Colts and Under 15’s all won so they are all definitely playing finals. A Grade have assured their place in the finals with another good win which has seen them jump into 2nd spot, and we may also have A Res and Under 17’s participating so you go girls! The Find the Footy comp. continues to be elusive for all who get a chance to win some good money. Think its up around the $650 mark now. Onto the footy, awards went to Lachy Bates (Counterpoint Man of the Day), great game from Lachy, Jack Shannon (HMF Award), how good was it to have the Rolls Royce back, Ryan Bassett (Barham Caravan Tourist Park), excellent effort from Basso, and Jacob Barrington (Barham Hotel voucher). What else would you expect from Jacob who gives his all every week. Others to play well were James Martin, Jack Thrum & Reggie Hamilton. The Ressy’s won their game after a hard fought battle. Injuries and players being unavailable for some unknown reason caused them to call on some Colts players, and also a couple of legend lookalikes in Tom Hawkins (Marto) and Charlie Curnow (Chubby). Not sure how they pulled up but they helped the boys get over the line to virtually secure a double chance for them and keep them in 3rd spot. But, they do need to win this weekend to make sure of it as Lake Boga are on their hammer and they play Cohuna! Awards went to Dudley Bibby (Wes Hare Scooby of the Day), Michael Grant (Matesy’s voucher), Jackson Flischer (Mitre 10 award) and Lachy Laursen (Barham Hotel voucher). The Colts won their game very easily which has catapulted then into 3rd spot but the boys play the 2nd placed team, which is Swan Hill, this Saturday and will need to win. Balranald are hot on their heels on equal points & a better percentage and they play the winless Kerang this weekend. Awards went to Kynan Laursen (Raiders Socks), Adam Pretty (Don Taylor Pen), Mitch Lowry (Wilma Bott Canteen voucher), and Riley Davis (Hard Yakka HMF), Coaches Cash went to Ryder Laursen. The Under 15’s again kept their opponents scoreless. They still sit 3rd on the ladder and will play finals. However this weekend’s results will determine which day they play! Best players were Alex Chisholm, Tennyson O’Neill, Thomas Bell, Ted Hobson, Bailey Weston & Dustin Bohn.
Okay this weekend our final home game, hopefully not our final game, we pla
