
I heard the rumble as two big marine diesel engines burst into life and soon near 400 of us aboard the “Milford Sovereign” passenger boat were moving out into Milford Sound, a world renowned fiord in New Zealand’s South Island. For two hours we passengers saw sights and sounds in Milford Sound that gobsmacked us as it did author Rudyard Kipling in earlier times when he called this place the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.
