We are back from having a break with 11 coming out to play. Before I start on the cards, the Barham Club has generously donated a lot of cards and a gift voucher to the Club, and we are very grateful to receive this. Now we are going to return serve by taking all the players over to the Club for a Chinese meal, hopefully. I know they will enjoy this kind gesture.
Now back to the cards. Scores were down as the 3 hander came into play and Batman and Robin (alias Iris Howard and Jim Bond) won the ladies’ and men’s. Iris had a good score in 2860, and Jim scoring 2660. As we were setting up, we said, “I bet Lorna Johnson wins something,” and Lorna came out with the Lucky Door as well as the Mystery Number. The aggregate finished up this week with Laurel Stacey, winning her first aggregate with a score of 13160, and Doug Billman winning the men’s with a score of 18040. So next week we start again. The best call of the night was 8 hearts {300}. The Big Snake woke up and had a big feast to the tune of 8. No trumps by Mavis Prout and Jim Bond. Mavis recovered to have a good score, as after the 13th hand, Mavis was -10. Jackpot did not go off.
