Recently the Barham Koondrook Men’s Shed received notification of their success with a grant application from the office of Dr Anne Webster MP. This was due to the Stronger Communities Programme Round 9 and the support of the Commonwealth of Australia represented by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts. This funding of $3,000 will assist the Shed to install a disability access path along the eastern side of the Men’s Shed situated at the Koondrook Recreation Reserve. This project will provide safe entry and exit to the side entrance, especially when community members attend activities/events at the Shed. The concrete path will also provide safer access to the Koondrook Cricket Club from the car park. This project is expected to commence at the end of August and will be a great asset to the local Men’s Shed and to the Koondrook Recreation Reserve.
